The DFB sports court has suspended Romarjo Hajrulla for two cup matches following his red card against Werder Bremen. The striker will therefore miss the top match in the national cup.

Third division soccer club Energie Cottbus will have to do without Romarjo Hajrulla in the next two cup matches at national association or DFB level. The 25-year-old Lusatian striker was sent off in last Monday's 3-1 cup defeat against Werder Bremen and was banned by the German Football Association's sports court in individual proceedings for rough play. The player and club agreed to the decision.

Hajrulla was shown the red card in the 78th minute after sliding into Werder goalkeeper Michael Zetterer with an outstretched leg. The attacker will definitely miss his team in the second round of the national cup. Energie will face regional league side Babelsberg 03 on the weekend of September 7/8. It will be a rematch of last season's cup final, which Cottbus won 3-1 at home.
