The RB Leipzig women's footballers have started the six-week winter break in the Bundesliga with a sense of achievement. Head coach Jonas Stephan's team won 3:1 (1:0) at 1. FC Köln to start the second half of the season. The goals for RB were scored by Vanessa Fudalla (4th minute), Marleen Schimmer (46th) and Giovanna Hoffmann (72nd). Taylor Ziemer scored for the hosts in the 83rd minute.
The Saxons had recently gone three games without a win and without scoring a goal of their own. With their sixth win of the season, Leipzig moved up to sixth place in the table with 19 points.
