Karl Geiger has also won the second World Cup ski jumping event in Klingenthal. The man from Oberstdorf came out on top on Sunday ahead of second-placed Gregor Deschwanden from Switzerland and Andreas Wellinger in third place. In a thrilling competition, Geiger jumped 141 and 141.5 meters. The 30-year-old had already won the German home event in Saxony the day before.
The team of national coach Stefan Horngacher once again showed its strong form. With his jump to 146.5 meters in the second round, the 28-year-old Wellinger set the hill record in the Vogtland Arena. In Pius Paschke in eighth place and Stephan Leyhe in tenth place, two more jumpers from the German Ski Association made it into the top ten.
