Two days before the start of the Basketball Bundesliga, the Niners Chemnitz have once again become active on the transfer market. The Saxons announced on Monday the signing of Elijah Ifejeh. The 26-year-old Canadian signed a contract for one season and is not scheduled as a regular player. Chemnitz enters on Wednesday (20.00 clock/Dyn) with champion Ulm to the season opener of the BBL.
"Elijah is to help especially our second men's team to create after their promotion to the first regional league the class preservation, and in addition for more depth in the Bundesliga team provide. There, he will not only be part of the training squad, but will also be allowed to play up to five substitute games in the BBL as well as all games in the FIBA Europe Cup," said Managing Director Steffen Herhold. If Ifejeh develops well, the temporary license could be converted into a permanent player permit for the BBL.
