Dresden Titans start ProA basketball season with 84-68 win over Artland Dragons. Newcomer Grayson Scott Murphy shines at the start.

The Dresden Titans have opened the basketball season in the ProA with an impressive 84:68 victory over Artland Dragons. After a narrow defeat in the BBL Cup, the team now seems more motivated than ever.

The Titans' coach Fabian Strauß couldn't be happier about the successful start to the season. "This performance shows that Dresden is a serious competitor. The future looks promising," commented the host of the Artland live stream.

In fact, the performance in the first game of the season confirmed the high expectations. Already in the first half, Fabian Strauß's team dominated and went into the break with a comfortable 55:36. The strengths that Dresden showed last season were again visible.

Grayson Scott Murphy, one of the newcomers, knew particularly convincing. With 14 points, seven assists and four steals, he was the outstanding player on the field for Dresden. Also the Dreierquote of the Titans was impressive: They hit 11 of 31 attempts (35 percent), while Artland came only on 23 percent.

The Titans showed themselves as a well-rehearsed team, while with the newly formed Dragons still some things were in the mess. It almost seemed as if the Titans had one more player on the field

Also in the second half, the Titans did not let up. A block by Sebastian Heck was just one of the highlights that showed: today Dresden can't be beaten, even if they took out some speed in the last minutes.

History

The Dresden Titans were founded in 1999 and have since become a fixture on the German basketball scene. With their current win, they are setting a strong tone for the upcoming season.
