Dresden's Striezelmarkt is an absolute magnet for visitors during the Advent season. Operators and traders are satisfied.

According to the city, around two million people will have visited this year's Dresden Striezelmarkt. This means that the number of visitors is roughly the same as last year, according to the city. The 590th Striezelmarkt will close its doors at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.

The organizers drew a positive balance. "The high number of visitors, especially at the weekends and during the numerous festivals, is proof of the great national and international popularity and awareness of the Dresden Striezelmarkt," said Jan Pratzka, Mayor of Economic Affairs.

A total of 140,000 liters of mulled wine were served, which is roughly the same amount as last year. By the last day, around 720,000 Striezelmarkt cups had been cleaned, it was said. Around 79,000 deposit cups were sold as souvenirs or gifts.

The Striezelwache registered 36 criminal charges by 19 December, including 19 theft offenses, four assault offenses and charges for traffic offenses. A total of 15 missing children were returned to their parents. The emergency services recorded a total of 32 call-outs. The most common causes were injuries from falls.

The 591st Dresden Striezelmarkt is scheduled to take place from November 26 to December 24, 2024.
