The East German cult band Silly thrilled fans at the premiere of their 'Elektroakustik' tour in Dresden's Kulturpalast. Hits such as 'Die wilde Mathilde' and 'Bye Bye' bring the hall to a boil.

The East German cult band Silly struck a chord with the audience at the premiere of their "Elektroakustik" tour in Dresden's Kulturpalast. After more than two hours, the musicians around keyboarder Ritchie Barton added five encores and got the concert hall boiling with hits such as "Die wilde Mathilde", "Wo fang ich an" and "Bye Bye". Silly had also previously served up great numbers from more than 40 years of band history, including "Mont Klamott", "Bataillon d'Amour" and "Asyl im Paradies".

The three Silly musicians Barton, Uwe Hassbecker (guitar) and Hans-Jürgen "Jäcki" Reznicek (bass) were joined on stage by singer Julia Neigel and City frontman Toni Krahl. The band had also been joined by drummer Ronny Dehn and Hassbecker's son Daniel, who also mixed new tones into the Silly sound with his accordion and cello. Krahl admitted that he was envious of his Silly colleagues - not because of their long hair, but because, as a Berliner, he would actually have liked to have written the song "Mont Klamott".

He then interpreted the song in his very fresh version. Neigel in turn told the audience that when she joined the band a few years ago, she brought with her a whole wish list of Silly songs that she really wanted to sing. The song "Alles rot" was one of them. On the current tour, however, fans will not only be able to reminisce, but also get to know many songs in a new guise - thanks to the interpretation of Neigel and Krahl.

The tour lasts until March 7, 2025, with Silly also performing in venues such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Berlin Philharmonie and the Alte Oper in Erfurt. The next gigs are on November 23 in Frankfurt an der Oder and on November 27 in the Stadthalle Cottbus. On February 18, the band will return to the Kulturpalast in Dresden for an additional concert. "It will be an exciting journey through our musical repertoire, which we will revive together with Julia and Toni," said Silly.
