Thousands of jesters in Saxony celebrated carnival in glorious spring weather at the weekend. In Radeburg (Meißen district), the largest carnival parade in the region attracted between 20,000 and 30,000 spectators on Sunday under the motto "Rabumania - Carnival of Extremes", as the deputy chairman of the Radeburg Carnival Club, Mirko Angermann, said. In total, more than 70 groups with around 2,200 participants took part in the colorful spectacle.
More and more groups at the parade
The Radeburg carnival celebrated its 68th season this year. The number of parade groups has increased once again. In addition to carnival clubs and themed groups, several marching bands also took part. The parade stretched over a length of around 1.25 kilometers and brought atmosphere to the streets of Radeburg.
