The Niners Chemnitz basketball team's batteries are empty after the double burden of the Champions League and the German league. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore suffered their heaviest defeat of the season in the German league at home to Telekom Baskets Bonn by 88:123 (44:70) and so suffered a severe setback in the battle for a playoff spot.
The outstanding Darius McGhee (40 points) almost single-handedly led the visitors to victory. Victor Bailey Jr. (24 points) scored best for Chemnitz.
The club from Saxony did not lead once and fell behind shortly after the game began. With a 15:2 run, Bonn stretched its 6:3 lead (2.) to 21:5 (6.) and was already 38:17 ahead after nine minutes (9.). The visitors extended their lead in commanding fashion over the course of the encounter and did not come under serious pressure once. Bonn benefited from its excellent three-point shooting percentage. Of 36 attempts, 24 landed in Chemnitz's basket.
