RB Leipzig will not accept Willi Orban's two-match ban from the Bundesliga. After the Sports Court of the German Football Association (DFB) rejected the Bundesliga club's appeal, RB have now lodged an appeal with the DFB Federal Court, the club announced.
Orban was sent off in the 85th minute of the season opener against VfL Bochum after the captain was only able to stop VfL attacker Myron Boadu with an emergency brake. RB coach Marco Rose had subsequently hoped for a reduced penalty as his central defender had allegedly touched the ball lightly. Orban was recently absent from the 3-2 win at Bayer Leverkusen due to suspension.
RB Leipzig are now hoping for the next instance so that the Hungarian international can return to action after the international break for the Bundesliga match against Union Berlin on September 14.
