Third-division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue must travel to Leipzig in the round of 16 of the Saxon state cup. Coach Pavel Dotchev's team will face Sachsenliga club SV Tapfer 06 Leipzig in mid-November. This was the result of the draw in Leipzig. Record cup winners Chemnitzer FC from the regional league, who defeated the higher-ranked defending champions Dynamo Dresden after extra time in the third round, will travel to the still point-less Sachsenliga club Dresdner SC.
The matches will be played on November 16/17, with the alternative date being November 20. The final day of the amateurs, on which all state cup finals are played, is scheduled for May 24, 2025.
The remaining regional league teams will also have to travel in the last 16. Lok Leipzig will play at Oberliga club FSV Budissa Bautzen. Chemie Leipzig also have a fifth-division opponent in VfB Auerbach. FSV Zwickau must travel to VfB Empor Glauchau, currently second in the Sachsenliga table.
