Rose anticipates "stormy times in Leipzig"

Sporting director Marcel Schäfer has sharply criticized RB Leipzig's players after the next setback. "If you want to reach your maximum, then you need this unconditional greed to take the next step. We are being very, very careless with our goal, with our situation," said the 40-year-old after the 4:3 Bundesliga defeat of the Bayern rivals at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

It was the fourth winless competitive game in a row for the Saxons, who led three times in Sinsheim. However, Schäfer also explicitly called the entire sporting management - including himself - to account. "I can only say that the clock is ticking," he continued in the direction of the professionals: "You shouldn't throw away a game or an entire year in your career."

Already eight points behind FC Bayern

Leipzig are now eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich and face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday. They have lost four games in the top flight so far.

Coach Marco Rose missed "a bit more energy, sharpness, greed" after each opening goal. There are a few recognizable patterns that have meant we have now failed to win four games in a row," said the 48-year-old. Rose is of course aware of his further weakened position: "Of course, that's what happens to a Champions League club, that's clear. Accordingly, we will now have stormy times in Leipzig."
