Saxony's first mobile drug consumption room is to be built in Leipzig. The trial operation is scheduled to start in 2025 and improve the situation of those affected.

The fire department reports a peaceful New Year in Dresden with no attacks on emergency services. There were 247 New Year's Eve call-outs, mainly for medical assistance due to excessive alcohol and drug consumption as well as injuries caused by fireworks.
