The vineyards in Saxony's Elbe Valley have green leaves and the vines have sprouted again after the late frost. However, fruit is rare, depending on the location - but there could be top wines.
The Saxon cabinet has approved aid for fruit and wine growers affected by frost damage. A total of 22 million euros is available for this and next year.
