The BSV Sachsen Zwickau women's handball team are bottom of the Bundesliga for the time being after their second defeat in their second game of the season. The team from Saxony lost its guest game at the promoted HSV Solingen-Gräfrath with 23:35 (14:20) on Saturday. Already in the first round of the DHB Cup, the BSV had lost against the newcomer with 24:26 (10:12). Paulina Uscinowicz, Zoe Stens (7 each) and Pia Adams (7/3) had the biggest share in the first Bundesliga victory of the Solingen girls. Ema Hrvatin (10/2) and Rita Lakatos (6/1) scored the most goals for Zwickau.
The guests could make the game open only in the first ten minutes. With a 5:1 run, the HSV pulled away from 6:6 (11th) within five minutes to 11:7 and was already ahead in the 23rd minute with 16:9. Shortly after the change of ends, the Zwickau women fought their way back to 16:20 (32nd), but with a renewed spurt to 26:17 (41st), the hosts had finally broken their opponents' resistance. The Zwickau women also despaired of the strong Solingen goalkeeper Katja Grewe (16 saves).
