Bundesliga club RB Leipzig will be without Lukas Klostermann for the time being. The international suffered a muscle injury in his right rear thigh in the 2-0 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening and will be out for the time being. The club made the announcement on Monday.
Leipzig did not provide any further details on the injury when asked. However, Klostermann will miss Saturday's match against FC Bayern Munich (18:30/Sky) and possibly other games. The 27-year-old suffered an injury against Gladbach through no fault of his opponent and had to be substituted in the 23rd minute.
After a season marked by injuries last season, Klostermann had regained his regular place at Leipzig. He had been a regular in central defense since the beginning of October and extended his contract, which expires at the end of June 2024, until 2028 in January. Klostermann, who was last part of the national team squad in June 2023, is hoping to take part in the home European Championships in the summer.
