RB Leipzig with a clear defeat at the end of the USA trip

RB Leipzig clearly lost a test match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of their trip to the USA. The Premier League club lost 3-0 (0-1) in Miami on Saturday (local time). Lukas Klostermann (18th) with an own goal, Pablo Sarabia (62nd) and Rodrigo Gomes (73rd) scored for the English side. RB returned home after the game. A final test before the start of the new season is scheduled for next Saturday (18:00) at home against Paris Saint-Germain.

Rose made changes to his starting line-up compared to the game against Aston Villa (3-0). Viggo Gebel and Lionel Voufack, two of the youngsters who had made the trip, were included in the starting eleven. The coach had to make do without Kevin Kampl, who had to leave early due to his son starting school, as well as the injured Assane Ouedraogo and El Chadiaille Bitshiabu. European Championship participants Benjamin Henrichs, David Raum and Dani Olmo as well as the injured Christoph Baumgartner and Xaver Schlager did not travel to the USA.

"The conditions were difficult today, there was a lot of rain. We were up against a strong, unpleasant opponent. We certainly didn't have our best day overall. Even though it was a preparation game, we don't like to lose," said Rose, who also cited the stress of traveling as a reason for the defeat. "It was to be expected somewhere along the line that we might not have quite as much energy left after a week of traveling. You could see that at one point or another. We didn't press as well and weren't as effective as we would have liked. You have to admit that to the boys at the end of this US tour. Nevertheless, our expectations are of course different."
