RB Leipzig's latest new signing Christopher Lenz is hoping for personal development at the Champions League club. "Even though I'm already 28, I hope I can improve and learn more at this level," the Berlin native told a media session at the Bundesliga soccer club on Wednesday. He sees himself as a defensively minded left-back, but who can also "switch on at any time in the offensive."

After Leipzig had made Lenz an offer, he had not had to think long. "When I learned of the interest, it was clear to me quickly that I want to do that absolutely. You don't think twice," said Lenz, who had moved to RB from league rivals Eintracht Frankfurt shortly before the end of the transfer period and is expected to provide an alternative to David Raum. After some injury problems in the past, he feels "fit and very well again" and hopes to get as much playing time as possible. At the same time, he said, "I'm a team player, give it my all for the team."
