The publisher of the far-right magazine "Compact", Jürgen Elsässer, has described the lifting of the ban by the Federal Administrative Court as a victory over Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser (SPD). There are still judges "who do not allow themselves to be persuaded by politics and make strictly objective decisions", said Elsässer at an AfD event in Sebnitz, Saxony. He spoke of an important decision for the freedom of the press.
The publisher of the newspaper in Potsdam had previously demanded compensation from politicians for the damage caused by the ban order.
The Federal Administrative Court provisionally lifted the ban on the far-right "Compact" magazine ordered by Faeser. The minister had banned the magazine on July 16 because it was a "central mouthpiece of the right-wing extremist scene".
