The management of FC Erzgebirge Aue will not communicate the reasons for the departure of coach Pavel Dotchev at the end of the season. "We don't have to be clear to the public, but clear to ourselves internally. We don't do well to discuss our decisions publicly. One says it, the other reacts to it. We don't need that," said Aue's sporting director Matthias Heidrich on "MagentaSport" after the Saxons' 3:1 defeat at Borussia Dortmund II.
It was important to leave the matter with those who made the decision. "Pavel doesn't deserve that we don't handle the matter professionally," emphasized Heidrich.
Dotchev himself was also not told the exact reasons. "Apparently they have their reasons, and that's okay. I have to accept that. If they make a decision like that, they have to know why they made it that way. I personally can't blame myself. So I can only advise," said the Bulgarian.
The team will do everything they can to be as successful as possible with Dotchev until the last game, promised captain Martin Männel. He himself has worked very well with Dotchev over the years. "In that respect, it's a bit close to me personally. Something has grown together over the years. Nevertheless, at the end of the day, it is professional business that a contract expires and is not extended. It doesn't just happen to coaches, but also to players," said the goalkeeper. You have to take it professionally as a team and build up a bit of a now-first-right mood to create a worthy end for the coach.
