Dynamo Dresden have responded to the long absence of Stefan Drljaca by signing goalkeeper Daniel Mesenhöler. The third division club announced on Friday that the 28-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season. Mesenhöler had already trained with the team in recent days.
"In Daniel, we have acquired a player of high quality. With his experience from the Bundesliga 2 and 3, he can strengthen our goalkeeping team and, above all, restore the usual breadth to the squad," said sporting director Ralf Becker.
Drljaca's muscle injury has not made the desired progress in healing. The keeper will therefore have to undergo surgery. It is not yet clear exactly how long the 24-year-old will be out of action.
