The run of success for the Niners Chemnitz has come to an end. The players of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore lost their game at Basketball Lions Braunschweig by 74:82 (39:42) and so conceded their first defeat after five successive wins in the German league. Aher Uguak (17), Olivier Nkamhoua (11) and Victor Bailey Jr. (10) scored the most points for Chemnitz. Arnas Velicka (20), Ferdinand Zylka, Tre Mitchell (16 each) and Sananda Fru (14) were the best scorers for Lower Saxony.
The visitors dominated proceedings to begin with and were 34:22 ahead after 16 minutes. However, Chemnitz squandered this comfortable lead and went into the break trailing by a narrow margin. Braunschweig then pulled 57:45 ahead in the 26th minute. Chemnitz chased after this deficit in vain due to its poor three-point field goal percentage. Only eight of 31 attempts landed in the opposing side's basket. The club from Lower Saxony converted ten of its 21 attempts from distance.
