Bundesliga basketball club Niners Chemnitz has once again become active on the transfer market. The management of the Saxons signed Ousman Krubally. The 35-year-old American has signed a contract until the end of this season with the option to extend for a further season. In return, the trial contract with the Canadian Elijah Ifejeh will be terminated. The club made the announcement on Friday.
Krubally brings with him 13 years of experience and 408 professional games in eight different European countries. The 2.01-meter center was under contract with Cypriot first division club Keravnos Strovolou last season and was supposed to play for Israeli first division club Bnei Herzliya this season. However, he was released due to the Gaza war and the resulting uncertainties for Israeli teams. Krubally is now eligible to play in the German Basketball League and the Fiba Europe Cup.
"The last few games, in which we had to do without Kevin Yebo due to injury, have shown us that we are a little too thin at the big positions. That's why we considered bringing in another player who could step into the breach in terms of performance if one of our experienced "big men" is out. Krubally is an extremely strong rebounder," said head coach Rodrigo Pastore.
