A medical emergency occurred during the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) match between HSG Wetzlar and ThSV Eisenach. In the 42nd minute, with the score at 21:20 in favor of the hosts from Wetzlar, the game had to be interrupted and the person involved had to be treated by paramedics.
The fans of both teams stopped their support during this time. After several minutes, the game was able to resume. The condition of the person was initially unknown.
Eisenach catches up to win on the road
ThSV Eisenach won the encounter 31:30 (13:17) after a strong comeback in the second half. The visitors had already trailed 7:14 after just under 20 minutes.
The outstanding player was international Marko Grgic, who scored 13 goals for the Thuringians and so played a big part in the away win. Eisenach climbed to ninth place in the HBL as a result of the win. Wetzlar is in 13th place.
