Erzgebirge Aue have conceded their first defeat of the season and have lost the lead in the table. The third-division club lost 3:1 (1:0) to Arminia Bielefeld at home in the Erzgebirge Stadium. In front of 10,111 spectators, Marvin Stefaniak (27th minute, penalty) scored for Aue and Stefano Russo (55th), Mael Corboz (61st) and Marius Wörl (78th) for Arminia.
The first good opportunity in a very eventful first half belonged to the Violets (7th). Just five minutes later, Boris Tashchy and Mika Clausen almost made it 1-0 in quick succession. However, it only came in the 25th minute. Stefaniak converted a penalty after Maximilian Großer had brought down Kilian Jakob Großer following a cross.
Strong visitors after the break
The unlucky man of the first half was André Becker from Arminia Bielefeld. He put the ball in the Auer goal twice, but the goal was whistled back twice - once for a foul beforehand and once for offside.
Bielefeld came out of the break strongly and literally took control of the game. Russo (55') scored a dream goal from a free-kick to equalize and Corboz (61') turned the game around just five minutes later to make it 2:1 for Arminia. And the next goal was not long in coming either: Schroers mercilessly countered the Violets, slotting through to Marius Wörl (78) with perfect timing, who scored to make it 3:1. Bielefeld thus remain unbeaten this season, while Aue suffer their first defeat.
