Erzgebirge Aue suffers fourth defeat in a row

After a strong start to the season, the sporting crisis at Erzgebirge Aue is now complete. The 3-1 defeat in the east derby against Energie Cottbus and the fourth defeat in a row have brought disillusionment to the Erzgebirge. "I've very, very rarely experienced four defeats in a row, so it's important that we keep a cool head now and move on," said captain Martin Männel.

Coach Pavel Dotchev wanted to calm things down "In our situation, a point would have done us good," he said. "It's about having a sense of achievement. The team is very willing. If anyone is responsible for this situation, it's me, not the boys. They're fighting - and they want to." After the English week, he wants to analyze and work through the problems. "There's no way I'm going to beat around the bush, because that would be totally out of order for me," said Dotchev.

Different perceptions

The assessment of the situation within the team differs in the Erzgebirge, however. While captain Männel feels "no uncertainty", Dotchev has a different perception. "Unfortunately, we were the first to fall behind again and completely lost our line after the second goal," explained the coach and certainly saw uncertainty among his professionals.

The mood in Cottbus is completely different after the second derby win ever in the Erzgebirge: "I believe that it could have ended 4-4, but I also believe that we deserved to win," said coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz on TV channel MagentaSport. The coach warned: "We mustn't get carried away now. Now is not the time for that."
