The ski jumping community traditionally meets in the Vogtland Arena to round off the summer season. The Free State of Saxony has recognized the potential of the sporting event for the region.

The Free State of Saxony is sponsoring the men's and women's ski jumping Summer Grand Prix in Klingenthal this weekend with over 95,000 euros. "Such large sporting events have a potential that goes far beyond the borders of sport, strengthens the region and supports the clubs by attracting broad attention in the recruitment of young talent," said State Secretary of the Interior Frank Pfeil at the handover of the money from the state budget on Sunday. At the Summer Grand Prix, around 150 athletes competed in individual competitions and in the mixed team competition on the large hill.
