Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director Nils Schmadtke spoke to Max Eberl on the phone after the match against RB Leipzig and reported on his positive mood after the game. Schmadtke also confirms talks with fans before the game.

Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director Nils Schmadtke has contacted his long-time predecessor following the home game against RB Leipzig and the vituperative poster by fans against Max Eberl. "I have spoken to Max on the phone. He left the stadium with a positive feeling. Not only because of the result, but also because he met many people who were happy to see him," the 34-year-old told TV channel Bild on Sunday. Eberl, who worked for 23 years at Borussia, returned to Borussia Park for the first time as sports director of RB Leipzig.

During the match, which Leipzig won 1-0, a banner could be seen for a short time in the Nordkurve. "First I get me 'nen sick bill, then I continue to count bill for bill," was to be read there. In addition Eberl was represented on a banner as pig.

It was before the starting signal "tense and excited", let Eberl communicate after the play. On the slurs, however, he did not go. Schmadtke confirmed that there had been talks with fans before the game because of possible actions. "But there were no detailed agreements," Schmadtke said. As always at games against Leipzig, there was a 19-minute protest with whistles.
