A 19-year-old Icelander is set to boost the attacking play of women's Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. The Saxons have signed Emilía Kiær Ásgeirsdóttir from Danish first division club FC Nordsjaelland. The striker has signed a contract with RB until June 30, 2028.
In the current season, Ásgeirsdóttir has scored seven goals and provided one assist in 14 league games. She scored twice in two cup matches. She also made an appearance in the Champions League qualifiers. At international level, she has played three international matches for Iceland. With Nordsjaelland, the 19-year-old won the Danish championship and cup in the 2023/24 season and was top scorer in the Kvindeliga.
"We are delighted that Emilía has chosen RB Leipzig. At the age of 19, she already has a lot of quality and great development potential. With her finishing power, robustness and speed, she will strengthen our offense," said Viola Odebrecht, Head of Women's and Girls' Football at RB Leipzig, on the transfer.
