The winning streak of RB Leipzig's women's soccer team in home games in the Bundesliga continues. Coach Jonas Stephan's team beat TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 3:1 (0:0) to extend their winning streak to nine Bundesliga games this season. Marlene Müller had put the hosts ahead after 55 minutes. Substitute Domenika Grabowska (78) equalized in front of 957 spectators with her first Bundesliga goal for Hoffenheim. In the second minute of stoppage time, Giovanna Hoffmann converted a penalty awarded to Jenny Hipp. Just one minute later, the new international decided the game with the 3:1.
The Saxons started furiously. Hoffmann (2.,3.) ran alone towards the goal of national goalkeeper Laura Dick twice within two minutes, but failed to beat the 21-year-old on both occasions. Vanessa Fudalla (9th, 23rd) also found her mark with long-range shots against the Hoffenheim goalkeeper, who also denied Marleen Schimmer after 40 minutes. But the visitors also had their chances. Selina Cerci (13) was unable to get past Leipzig goalkeeper Elvira Herzog with the biggest of them.
After the break, the game flattened out, with hardly any chances created by either side. Nevertheless, the hosts, who had the upper hand until the 60th minute, scored when Müller calmly slotted home from close range. However, this awoke the fighting spirit of the visitors, who increasingly pinned Leipzig back in their half. Nevertheless, it was Hoffenheim's first ever shot on goal after the break that led to the equalizer. Grabowska was completely free at the penalty spot from a cross, her shot was deflected and sunk over Herzog into the goal. Leipzig only woke up again in the final minutes and were lucky to win.
