Former Bundesliga professional Stefan Ilsanker has ended his career. This was announced by the 34-year-old Austrian's management on Saturday. The midfielder last played for FC Genoa in the Italian second division and had been without a club since last summer.
From 2015 to 2020, Ilsanker played for RB Leipzig and was promoted to the Bundesliga with the club. This was followed by two and a half seasons at Eintracht Frankfurt. He won the Europa League with the club from Hesse, but was not in the squad for the final. Ilsanker made 61 appearances for Austria.
