Striker Openda before Bayern game: Kane one of the world's best

RB Leipzig's top striker Lois Openda does not yet see himself among the world's best. Ahead of Saturday's (6:30 p.m./Sky) top match in the Bundesliga against champions Bayern Munich, the 23-year-old said Bayern's Harry Kane is one of the best in the world. "He is better than me. But that's what drives me: I want to be at his level one day," Openda told "Sport Bild" (Wednesday).

Against Bayern, the Belgian does not see his team in the role of favorites despite the Supercup victory (3-0). "The Supercup was top. But we want to beat Bayern again in this big game and will do everything to make their trip to Leipzig as unpleasant as possible. Nobody should feel comfortable in our stadium except us."

Openda has marked three goals and given one assist in the first five Bundesliga games. "I can do a lot more, and that's what I'm working on every day to get everything out of me," the striker said. He said he made a very conscious decision to move to Leipzig after Belgium's selection coach Domenico Tedesco - who was in the Saxons' employ before joining the federation - also encouraged him to do so. "And coach Marco Rose told me that he wants to and will make me a better player. I can already tell: that's what's happening," Openda said.
