- A Leipzig defeat is not to be expected statistically. Freiburg have only managed two draws at the Red Bull Arena so far, returning home as losers five times. Leipzig have been unbeaten against Freiburg for a total of nine competitive matches.
- As always, it is likely to be an intense clash with the Breisgauers. Leipzig and Freiburg are currently the teams with the most duels in the Bundesliga. Freiburg win 52.1 percent of their duels, with RB winning just 52.0 percent.
- Leipzig and Freiburg have already met 18 times. There has never been a 0-0 draw, but Freiburg's attack is currently struggling. They have only scored 13 goals in ten Bundesliga games so far.
- For Timo Werner, Freiburg comes in handy. He has already scored ten times against SCF, a feat only achieved more often against Mainz. However, Werner missed the trip to Belgrade in the Champions League during the week due to an infection.
- The strong form of RB goalkeeper Janis Blaswich can also be proven statistically. The 32-year-old has already kept five clean sheets this season - the best record in the league. Freiburg's Noah Atubolu is performing at a similar level, having already done so three times.
