On what is traditionally the busiest day at the Leipzig Book Fair, long queues formed at the entrance on Saturday. Even on the two previous days, it was not possible to enter the exhibition halls without waiting in the morning. On Saturday, however, the crowds were particularly large, as spokesman Felix Wisotzki said.
The fair had also noticed a change in visitor behavior. In contrast to previous years, the majority of visitors flocked to the exhibition grounds right on time for the opening at around 10.00 am. This led to traffic jams at the entrance.
On the first two days, the book fair counted 96,000 visitors. That was around 8,000 more than at the halfway point of the fair last year. The book fair is still open until Sunday.
