The rock band Silly want to stay on the road to success with their "electro-acoustic tour". On February 7, the Berliners continued the tour that began in November at the Steintor Varieté in Halle. On the following two days, they will perform in Jena and the Berlin Philharmonie. Wittenberg follows on February 14 and the Dresden Kulturpalast on February 18, where the tour began in mid-November 2023.
Since the additional concert in Dresden was also sold out within a short space of time, there will be another show at the same venue on February 24. Keyboardist Ritchie Barton, guitarist Uwe Hassbecker and bassist Hans-Jürgen "Jäcki" Reznicek as well as singer Julia Neigel and former City frontman Toni Krahl will be on stage. The band had also been joined by drummer Ronny Dehn and Hassbecker's son Daniel, who also mixes new tones into the Silly sound with accordion and cello.
Bassist Reznicek said: "In contrast to a normal rock program, we use other instruments. I play a fretless bass, which sounds more like a classic double bass. Uwe Hassbecker plays a guitar with nylon strings, an acoustic guitar and also violin." Barton does not sit at the keyboard, but at the grand piano. In addition, some of the songs are arranged completely differently. "With some songs, most people don't even realize what it's all about at first. It's only clear when the vocals start," said the bassist.
