Aue should actually be leading at half-time in Bielefeld. But even in the fifth competitive match of 2025, they failed to pick up three points.

Jens Härtel is still waiting for his first win in a competitive match as coach of third-division soccer club Erzgebirge Aue. In his fifth stint on the Erzgebirge touchline, the team of Pavel Dotchev's successor suffered their third defeat in two draws at Arminia Bielefeld in a 2-1 (0-0) draw.

In front of 17,903 spectators in the Schüco Arena, the visitors had the better chances in the first half, but only the home side were able to celebrate after goals from Mael Corboz (82nd minute) and Julian Kania (85th). Maxim Burghardt only managed to score the equalizer in the 90th minute.

Härtel relied on the same line-up as in the 1-1 draw against Alemannia Aachen. Despite the winless streak, Aue were the more active team on the Alm and should have led at the break. However, top scorer Marcel Bär only hit the aluminum for the fourth game in a row (25th), Marvin Stefaniak failed with a free kick from almost 30 meters to Bielefeld's goalkeeper Jonas Kersken (29th).

After the break, the game flattened out and took place mainly in midfield. There was some excitement after a mistake by Anthony Barylla, when Bielefeld captain Corboz was separated from the ball at the highest level and Bielefeld demanded a penalty, but the whistle was not blown.
