After the clear defeat in the league, 1. FC Nuremberg gained a little self-confidence with a test match victory. The second-division soccer team coached by Miroslav Klose defeated the lower-ranked club Erzgebirge Aue 6:0 (3:0) during the international break. Taylan Duman (9th minute/43rd), Dustin Forkel (25th), Kanji Okunuki (56th/60th) and Florian Flick (90th +1) scored the goals for Nuremberg at Max-Morlock-Platz.
"That was a decent test for us. We were able to try out a few things that will give us pointers for the upcoming games," said Klose. Last Saturday, the Franconians lost 4-0 at home to 1. FC Magdeburg.
Klose made plenty of changes against the team currently top of the third division table. The internationals Michal Sevcik (Czech Republic), Stefanos Tzimas (Greece) and the German U19 internationals Finn Jeltsch and Winners Osawe were not involved.
