After two recent draws, Dynamo Dresden won against Wiesbaden and, together with Cottbus, pulled away from the chasing pack.

Dynamo Dresden are continuing their charge towards the 2nd Bundesliga. With a 2-0 (1-0) win against SV Wehen Wiesbaden, Dynamo defended their lead in the third division table by one point ahead of Energie Cottbus. The draw by 1. FC Saarbrücken at Hansa Rostock widened the gap to the third relegation place to five points.

Christoph Daferner (56th minute) and Moritz Flotho (10th minute) with an own goal following a Dresden corner scored the goals for the superior home side in front of 30,267 spectators at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion.

Lemmer misses early decision

From the start, Dynamo took control of the game and were rewarded with an early lead after an own goal from Wiesbaden's Flotho. Jakob Lemmer missed the chance to make it 2-0 just two minutes later when his lob after a long pass landed in the arms of SVWW goalkeeper Florian Stritzel. Dynamo dropped back a little midway through the half, largely leaving the ball to the visitors and lurking on the counter-attack.

After the restart, the Saxons remained the dominant team, but were not rewarded for their efforts. It was a mistake by the visitors that decided the game. Niklas Hauptmann sprinted into a short back pass to the Wehen goalkeeper and set up Daferner perfectly. He only had to push the ball into the empty goal. Dynamo safely saw out the result.
