Dynamo Dresden remain the measure of all things in the 3rd soccer league. The league leaders defeated Alemannia Aachen 1:0 (1:0) away from home. The goal of the day was scored by Niklas Hauptmann (45th +2nd minute). The match at Aachen's Tivoli was watched by 30,700 spectators.
The duel between the traditional black-and-yellow teams got off to a slow start. Both Dresden and Aachen struggled on the bumpy surface. After a scrappy first half-hour, the hosts then created some good opportunities. Shortly before the break, Hauptmann then put the Saxons ahead out of nowhere.
Dresden's defense secures victory
Dresden were the more active team at the start of the second half, but failed to add a second goal. An open exchange of blows developed as the game progressed. Aachen played courageously forward, Carlison Benschop (73') and Felix Christian Meyer (80') had the chance to equalize. Dynamo defended robustly to secure an ultimately flattering away win.
