Dynamo Dresden are not unsettled by falling behind against Cottbus - and turn the game around thanks to a system change. The captain warns despite the perfect start to the season.

Dynamo Dresden proved in their 4:2 (2:2) win against FC Energie Cottbus that they can now react flexibly to the course of the game and be successful with an alternative match plan. "We always have a plan B for a game and the changeover was the plan B. Things went better after that, especially with the ball," said coach Thomas Stamm after the match on matchday 2 of the 3rd Football League. Stamm has developed the new flexibility with Dynamo, the lack of which had often cost the Saxons points in the past.

Cottbus dominated the game in Dresden for 20 minutes. Phil Halbauer (8th minute) and Tolcay Cigerci (12th) scored for a quick 2:0 and massively unsettled Dynamo. Nothing seemed to work anymore. But Stamm reacted and switched to a back four. He not only changed the system, but also the entire structure of the game. As a result, Energie could no longer get a grip on the game and conceded four more goals through Stefan Kutschke (26th/foul penalty), Tony Menzel (31st), Robin Meißner (78th) and Philip Heise (90th +1).

"We have three or four players with whom we try to communicate during the game. And they then passed it on to everyone," reported Stamm. He then addressed one or two things during the break and things got a lot better. "But that's part and parcel of not always being right. It helped," analyzed Stamm.

Kutschke does not allow euphoria

Goalscorer Kutschke warned against being too euphoric again. "We've picked up six points from two games. But we know how to be realistic. The important thing is: How do we deal with it as a group? It gives us confidence. In view of what we experienced in the previous second half of the season, we won't take off. I promise that," said the captain.
