The handball players of ThSV Eisenach were beaten by TVB Stuttgart for the second time this season. After losing 25:29 in front of their home crowd, the Thuringians lost their Bundesliga game 30:31 (16:16) at the fourth-last team in the table. Max Häfner (7/1) and goalkeeper Milan Vujovic (eleven saves) played the biggest part in the Swabians' success, who celebrated their first win of the year after five defeats in a row. Marko Grgic (11/5) scored the most goals for the visitors.
The game, in which the lead changed hands constantly, was on a knife-edge until the very end. Neither team was able to pull away from their opponents by more than two goals. Eisenach were 13:11 ahead after 21 minutes, but squandered this lead before the break.
The home side got off to the better start in the second half and led 22:20 after 38 minutes. The club from Thuringia turned that deficit into a 27:25 lead with ten minutes remaining. The visitors conceded two missed shots and a technical foul in the following three attacks. Stuttgart turned the game around with three goals in a row and defended its narrow 28:27 lead (54') until the final whistle.
