FC Erzgebirge Aue have advanced to the semi-finals of the Saxony Cup after a poor performance. The third-division club won 2:0 (0:0) against Oberliga side SC Freital on Saturday. Aue found it extremely difficult at the Husarensportpark in Grimma and were hardly able to create any scoring chances despite their superiority. It was not until the 82nd minute that Mirnes Pepic scored the redemptive 1:0. In stoppage time, Steffen Meuer (90.+4) made it 2:0 and secured the team's place in the semi-finals of the regional cup.
