Erzgebirge Aue win their third league opener at the Erzgebirgsstadion. The fans show their displeasure before the game.

FC Erzgebirge Aue have won their first game of the season. The third-division club won 2:1 (2:1) against Hannover 96 II, who were promoted from the Regionalliga, at home in the Erzgebirge Stadium. In front of 6870 spectators, Marvin Stefaniak (9th) and Marcel Bär (22nd) scored for the Violets and Tom Sanne (15th) for Hannover.

After a brief protest about the test match against RB Leipzig by the Auer fans, who left the stadium when the players entered until kick-off, the game got off to a heated start. Stefaniak scored after just nine minutes and benefited from weak defending by the visitors. The equalizer by Sanne (15) was not long in coming. Just seven minutes later, Bär (22) scored into an empty net after the Hannover keeper miscalculated and was outplayed by Kilian Jakob.

The second half was much calmer. Bär had the 3:1 on his feet in the 57th minute, but just missed the goal. The newly promoted team from Hanover grew stronger and stronger, but were unable to score a goal of their own. Auer's new signings Mika Clausen and Maxim Burghardt in particular made a strong showing in their first game for the Saxons.
