Fresh Leipzig team clear favorites against Heidenheim

After just one win from their last five Bundesliga games, RB Leipzig face a tough challenge at home against 1. FC Heidenheim. Especially as their opponents this Sunday (3.30pm/DAZN) have lost all three games against RB in the league so far. Leipzig are relying on the freshness effect. After a long week of training without any international fixtures, only a win counts for the Saxons in the battle to qualify for the Champions League. "Of course we're favorites on Sunday, of course we're fresher than our opponents because we've had a normal week of training. We know that ourselves," said RB head coach Marco Rose, who will be able to call on defender Willi Orban (suspension) again but will be without Yussuf Poulsen (muscular problems).

The coach nevertheless warned against the 16th-placed side, who have lost five league games in a row and are winless in six matches. "Because Heidenheim are characterized by a few things: A team that never gives up, no matter what the score. They come back relatively often and reward themselves here and there," said Rose about Frank Schmidt's team, who are not exactly confident after their unfortunate exit after extra time in the Conference League against FC Copenhagen.
