RB Leipzig captain Willi Orban is taking action against his red ban. The defender has lodged an appeal against the decision of the German Football Association's sports court to ban him for two championship matches. The appeal will be heard on Monday (14:00) in Frankfurt. Orban will remain suspended until the hearing, meaning he will miss the Bundesliga top match at champions Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday (18:30/Sky).
Orban had stopped VfL attacker Myron Boadu with an emergency brake in the 85th minute of the 1-0 win against Bochum last Saturday and was shown the red card. Coach Marco Rose had subsequently hoped for a reduced penalty as his central defender had allegedly touched the ball lightly.
