Leipzig coach Marco Rose is shown a yellow card in Leverkusen. It is not the first time he has been suspended. A special meal awaits the team as punishment.

For RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose, the yellow-red card from Leverkusen has culinary repercussions. "There is a fixed list of penalties," said international David Raum on the Sport1 program "Doppelpass". "We as a team are fans of having sushi in the dressing room when someone has done something. I think we now expect the same from the coach."

Rose was shown a yellow card in the 26th minute of Leipzig's 3-2 win at Bayer Leverkusen. The 47-year-old had initially complained too violently after a foul on striker Lois Openda and then entered the pitch after the first yellow card. "I don't know if it was a bit excessive to give two yellows straight away. But I'm generally a fan of emotions myself. I like it when a coach gets involved on the touchline and I don't hold it against him," said Raum. "We're now looking forward to a meal."

With the referee in the same hotel

Rose admitted after the game that he had made a mistake. "I have to take full responsibility for that. The new rules are clear. I wanted to contact him briefly after the first yellow card. That didn't work out," Rose explained the scene on Sky TV, adding: "I accept that. I deserved it in that situation."

Rose had already seen four yellow cards in the previous season and had to watch the game in Heidenheim from the stands. "The funny thing is: We met at lunchtime today, we were in the same hotel as the referees. I said: This year things are different. Now I have to apologize and correct myself, because in the end it was clear what was coming," said the Leipzig player: "I accept the yellow-red card, I vow to do better. I am me. If I mess up, then I can admit it. In this case, I did that."
