In the first leg, both teams were held to a goalless draw. Scoring goals seems to be the main problem for RB and Union. Nevertheless, Rose expects the next step in Köpenick.

The topic of goal threat is currently on the agenda for both coaches. But RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has much more attacking quality than his counterpart Steffen Baumgart at Union Berlin. That's why Rose is still miffed after the 0:1 in the Champions League at Sturm Graz.

"What we're finding difficult at the moment over 90 minutes, at times completely missing, is to create goals out of the game. And it's always the last 10, 15 percent, how do I prevent a standard goal against an opponent who has crystallized exactly these means to beat us," said the 48-year-old ahead of the Bundesliga match this Saturday (18.30/Sky) at the Eisern.

Stay in fighting mode

He would have liked his highly-rated team to take "the next step" in their last group game in the top flight. "We missed it again," said Rose and emphasized: "I said at the start of the year that we were in fighting mode and that we would stay in fighting mode. It's not surprising now, nothing can surprise me at the moment. Nevertheless, I would have liked us to take a step in the right direction in Graz and be able to sit here today and talk with a different feeling."

So, despite the hot atmosphere at the Alte Försterei, he expects "that we achieve a sense of achievement, then also the week after, stability in results, in performance, in everything, to take a few steps forward, that's our core issue".

Both teams have stumbled in the league recently. While Union have only won one of their last twelve games, RB have been winless in three matches. Union have failed to score in their last three matches against Leipzig. The two teams drew goalless in the first leg.
