The SC DHfK Leipzig handball team recorded its first Bundesliga win in 2025. The team of coach Rúnar Sigtryggsson defeated bottom-of-the-table VfL Potsdam 32:19 (17:10) in front of 4,602 spectators. SC DHfK's best scorer was left winger Lukas Binder with nine goals.
The game got off to the worst possible start for the home side. After just 52 seconds, center Moritz Preuss was shown a red card. Leipzig struggled to get into a fast-paced game at the start, but was able to rely on the one-on-one qualities of international Luca Witzke.

As goalkeeper Domenico Ebner then also got into the game better, the home side pulled 10:5 ahead in the 17th minute. Potsdam's play became increasingly erratic and SC DHfK's solid display was enough to open up a seven-goal gap by the break.
The club from Leipzig also controlled the game after the break without much trouble. The lead grew to ten goals for the first time in the 36th minute (21:11). Sigtryggsson could then afford to rest his top players without jeopardizing the clear success.
