The handball players of BSV Sachsen Zwickau have suffered a severe setback in their fight to stay in the league. Coach Norman Rentsch's charges conceded a clear 20:35 (11:18) defeat at eighth-placed Buxtehuder SV on Sunday. Maj Rika Nielsen (6/4), Charlotte Kähr, Maxi Mühlner (5 each) and Isabelle Dölle (5/1) played the biggest part in the hosts' success. Laura Szabo (6/4) and Ema Hrvatin (4) scored the most goals for Zwickau.
The team from Saxony trailed 4:9 after just twelve minutes and the deficit had grown to seven goals by the break. The visitors also remained weak in attack in the second half and made numerous technical mistakes. By 23:13 (39') at the latest, the hosts had decided the game in their favor.
