At the Leipzig Book Fair, readings are not only held in the exhibition halls, but also in unusual places. An excursion boat on Lake Cospuden became a reading venue on Thursday evening. Author Kati Naumann presented her book "Fernwehlland". In keeping with the setting, it is about the GDR vacation ship "Völkerfreundschaft".
The events at the special locations are part of the program of "Leipzig reads", the reading festival at the book fair. Other unusual locations include the South Cemetery and Leipzig Zoo. At the cemetery on Friday evening, the focus will be on urban fantasy by author Anne Herzel. Several events are scheduled at the zoo on Friday and Saturday, including a reading on "Hidden Mythical Creatures of the Seas" in the historic aquarium.
